General Intelligence and Reasoning (50 Marks) :
It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions.
General Awareness (50 Marks):
Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its Neighboring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
For VH candidates of 40% and above visual disability /cerebral palsy affected candidates and opting for scribe there will be no component of Maps/Graphs/Diagrams/Statistical Data in the General Intelligence and Reasoning / General Awareness Paper.
English Language and Comprehension (100 Marks):
In addition to the testing of candidates' understanding of the English, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. his/her writing ability, would also be tested.
Skill test in Stenography:Candidates who obtain the qualifying marks in the Written Examination as may be prescribed by the Commission will only be called for the Skill Test. It may also prescribe qualifying marks in each part of the Written Examination. THE SKILL TEST WILL BE OF QUALIFYING NATURE and the Commission will fix the qualifying standards in the skill test for different categories of candidates.
The candidates will have to appear for the stenography test. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer only. The evaluation of transcription will be done electronically only. The transcription time is as follows–
● For Stenographer Grade ‘D’ : 50 minutes ( English ) 65 minutes ( Hindi )
● For Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 40 minutes ( English ) 55 Minutes ( Hindi )

SSC Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Exam Syllabus
Paper-I
Questions on ‘General Intelligence and Reasoning’ will be non-verbal considering the functions attached to the post. Questions on Numerical Aptitude and General English will be simple, of a level that an average matriculate will be in a position to answer comfortably. Questions on General Awareness will be also of similar standard.
General Intelligence: It would include questions of non-verbal type. Numerical Aptitude: This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, use of Tables and Graphs, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.
General Awareness: Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. Paper-II:

Candidates will be required to write one short essay/letter in English and Hindi each. Candidates can opt to write the essay/letter in any Indian language listed in 8th Schedule of the Constitution in lieu of Hindi.

Scheme and Syllabus of Examination for SSC Sub Inspector (Executive) Recruitment 2012
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct All India Examination for Sub Inspector (Executive) recruitment in Delhi Police on 19 August 2012. The minimum qualification needed for the same is Graduation from a recognized university or equivalent.
The examination will consist of a Written Examination, Physical Efficiency Testand Interview/ Personality Test. The written examination will consist of one objective type paper only comprising of 2 sets; Part I and Part II with deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer marked on OMR Answer Sheet. SSC Junior Grade of Indian Information Service Examination Syllabus
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct Junior Grade of Indian Information Service Examination (Group ‘B' Non Gazetted) for recruitment in various Government Offices on 22 July 2012.
The examination will consist of a written examination (300 marks) and interview (100 marks).
Written Examination: The papers will be of 150 marks each of 90 minutes duration. The paper-I will consist of 150 questions of objective multiple choice. Paper-II will be descriptive type carrying maximum marks of 150.

Junior Translators (CSOLs)/ Junior Hindi Translators Examination Pattern
SCHEME OF EXAMINATION:
The examination will consist of two parts, viz.
PART-I - Written Examination, carrying 400 marks; and
PART-II - Personality Test (Interview), carrying 100 Marks.
PART-I:
Written Examination: The Written Examination will be held on 28.11.2010 and will consist of two papers. The
maximum marks allotted to each paper and the duration of each paper will be as under:-
NOTE-I : Paper-I will consist of Objective Type- Multiple choice questions only. Paper-II
shall be evaluated in respect of only those candidates, who attain a minimum
qualifying standard in Paper-I as may be fixed at the discretion of the Commission.
NOTE-II: Candidates are not permitted to use Mobile Phones, Calculators or any other
electronic / electrical device for answering any paper (Test Booklets).
Candidates must not, therefore, bring Mobile Phone, Calculators or any other
electronic / electrical device inside the Examination premises. Possession of these
items , whether in use or not, will be considered as “use of unfair means” in the

PERSONALITY TEST/INTERVIEW: 100 Marks
NOTE-I: Only those candidates who secure in the written examination the minimum qualifying marks as may
be fixed by the Commission at their discretion, will be eligible to appear at the Interview. The
interview will be held at the Commission's Regional /Sub-Regional Offices or at any other place as
decided by the Commission.
NOTE-II: SC/ST candidates called for interview will be paid TA as per Govt. Orders. However, no TA is
payable to any candidate for appearing in the written examination.
SYLLABUS
Paper-I:
a) General Hindi : 100 marks (Objective type)
b) General English : 100 marks (Objective type)
The questions will be designed to test the candidates’ understanding of the language, correct use of
words,phrases and idioms and ability to write language correctly, precisely and effectively.
Paper-II:
Translation and Essay: 200 Marks (Conventional Type)
The paper will contain two passages for translation-one passage for translation from Hindi to English
and one passage for translation from English to Hindi, and an Essay each in Hindi and English to test
the candidates’ translation skills and their ability to write as well as comprehend the two languages
correctly, precisely and effectively
The examination will consist of two parts, viz.
PART-I - Written Examination, carrying 400 marks; and
PART-II - Personality Test (Interview), carrying 100 Marks.
PART-I:
Written Examination: The Written Examination will be held on 28.11.2010 and will consist of two papers. The
maximum marks allotted to each paper and the duration of each paper will be as under:-
NOTE-I : Paper-I will consist of Objective Type- Multiple choice questions only. Paper-II
shall be evaluated in respect of only those candidates, who attain a minimum
qualifying standard in Paper-I as may be fixed at the discretion of the Commission.
NOTE-II: Candidates are not permitted to use Mobile Phones, Calculators or any other
electronic / electrical device for answering any paper (Test Booklets).
Candidates must not, therefore, bring Mobile Phone, Calculators or any other
electronic / electrical device inside the Examination premises. Possession of these
items , whether in use or not, will be considered as “use of unfair means” in the
Examination and appropriate action will be taken by the Commission against such
